It seems people really are starting to Make It Their Holmfirth – with the town’s place-branding campaign enjoying some seriously impressive numbers on social media.
The campaign, which celebrates everything that makes Holmfirth special – from its independent businesses and food and drink scene to its stunning countryside, events and community spirit – has been getting people talking online.
And the latest figures show just how much the message is getting out there.
The campaign has had a fantastic month on social media, with 330,500 views across its posts – an impressive 91% increase.
Even better, more than 25,000 people engaged with the content, whether that was liking, commenting, sharing or otherwise interacting with posts, showing that it isn’t just being seen – people are actually engaging with it and joining in. That’s a 43% rise on the previous period.
That is exactly what Make It Your Holmfirth set out to achieve.
The campaign was launched to showcase the town, build local pride, encourage people to explore what Holmfirth has to offer and, importantly, support local businesses by encouraging more visitors and footfall.
And social media is proving to be a pretty powerful way of doing that.
A big part of the recent success has been the huge interest in Holmfirth Pride, with Pride-related posts proving particularly popular and helping to put the town firmly in the spotlight.
But it’s not just Pride getting people interested. The MIYH Heritage campaign has also been performing strongly, showing that there’s a real appetite for content celebrating Holmfirth’s history, character and what makes the town such a special place.
As the campaign continues to grow ( watch this space for some exciting news in the next few months! ) the hope is that the online attention translates into even more people choosing to visit, live, work, shop, eat and spend time in Holmfirth.
For a town with so much to shout about, it looks like plenty of people are now listening.
