The park is also a place for community activities, nature and events throughout the year.
The park offers views across Holmfirth and represents the Victorian belief in providing green spaces, recreation and cultural activities for growing industrial communities.
The land was purchased by Holmfirth Town Council from local schoolteacher John Burton to mark Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee in 1897.
